What the supplier data does — and does not — tell you
The scope, counting rules and limitations of the Poppiki merchant directory and its source evidence.
A dated processing snapshot, not a live factory count
The processing report dated 23 September 2026 records 103,000 imported source rows, 101,526 searchable merchant records and 303,332 retained representative product descriptions. Of the source rows, 211 were merged under identity rules and 1,263 were held for review. These numbers describe the processed dataset, not today’s stock or a live registration counter.
Source material was provided as two Cloud Newton merchant exports. Each merchant retains a limited set of representative product descriptions, not its full SKU catalog. Individual source observation dates can be older than the processing date. Weekly automatic updates are not currently implemented.
Merchant records are not audited independent factories
Identity normalization uses identifiers within their source namespace. Conflicting identities are isolated instead of forcibly merged; matching company names alone are not sufficient for merging. The report includes 2,912 records without strong identity identifiers and 1,744 same-name groups involving 4,507 records.
The 101,526 count must therefore not be read as 101,526 independently verified manufacturing companies. “Super factory”, “established merchant” and similar ratings come from source platforms, not a Poppiki inspection. Production relationships, current capacity and certifications still require checking.
How candidates are found
Poppiki searches product and category descriptions using indexed terms and a bounded set of Chinese/English aliases, then preserves the relevant source text. Each search returns a limited candidate set rather than the entire database.
A keyword match or an optional AI relevance score is a product-fit signal. Missing MOQ, material, lead time, destination or certification evidence is kept visible as a question. Listing prices are separate from supplier replies and order-specific quotes.
Public examples and private project evidence
The public sample uses only fictional suppliers and authored example records. Its dates identify when the example was written; they are not supplier data timestamps. Homepage images are generated product concepts, not inventory, supplier photographs or completed orders.
The real directory and project exports require authenticated access. The public pages do not publish the merchant database, private contacts or buyer projects. Public supplier profiles and reuse of private quotes as marketing examples require a separately confirmed display scope; neither is part of this release.
