What to include in your first supplier inquiry
Identify the exact product or model first. A listing link, dimensions and material requirements reduce the chance of receiving a quote for a different product. If you are comparing several suppliers, send the same specification to each and ask them to identify any differences.
State the quantity with its unit and variation: 2,000 bags in one design is different from 2,000 bags divided between five designs. Ask whether the minimum order quantity applies per design, color or model. Leave unknowns as questions rather than choosing numbers you cannot confirm.
Example: a custom paper bag RFQ
For an illustrative order of 2,000 printed paper bags, specify width × depth × height in millimeters, paper type, handles, print colors and destination. Ask for the price at that specification, not just a listing’s starting price. Separate setup charges, sample charges, packaging and freight so that quotes can be compared.

How to use the reply
Check that the quotation covers your exact model and quantity. Record the currency, quote validity and when the production clock starts. A low unit price may exclude a logo setup charge, export packaging or delivery. Ask the supplier to name the delivery term and destination so you know which costs are still yours.
A request for a test report is not proof that the product meets your destination’s requirements. Check the model, dates and issuing organization on any documents you receive. Arrange samples and independent checks appropriate to your product before committing to an order.

Can I ask for a quote before I know the exact quantity?
Yes. Ask for the supplier’s minimum order quantity and prices at realistic quantity tiers. Mark the final quantity as undecided. The template keeps blank fields visible in brackets so they are easy to review.
Does this tool translate or send my inquiry?
It assembles an English template and preserves exactly what you enter. It does not translate your input, verify supplier claims, or send messages. Use English for the product details if you need a fully English draft.
Can I use this for a product found on 1688?
